ThailandProcessing Thailand

—27th July 2008

It's going to take a while to process all of our Thailand trip, there are many rolls of 35mm negatives, digital images and analogue video to process.

I will get back to this subject when time permits.

Compressing Photos For Our Web Site

-4th May 2009

Post Roller 1

One of the biggest problems with setting up and maintaining a web site is making sure that the photographs load fast for anyone looking at the page or pages, having worked as a professional photographer for many years I will be posting quite a few pictures, particularly on posts involving how we have done things, I decided to look for a way to make our photos as small as possible while maintaining quality.

The photo on the left is from a trailer modification I was doing for our boat trailer.

The original was taken on a Samsung Digimax S600 Camera giving an image size of 1035Kb.

I then cropped the shot and adjusted the brightness using Photoshop Elements, it saved out at 254Kb.

The photo was then resized and compressed using Advanced JPEG Compressor 2009 to a tiny, tiny size of 6Kb.

Panoramic and widescreen images

Port ArthurHere are some of our photographs that we use for wallpapers, they span across two LCD monitors randomly changing using Display Fusion Pro. Please note I have scaled them down to an easily viewed size for the internet, some of the originals are almost 4000 pixels wide.
